Torrisholme Cricket Club are delighted to announce the addition of four more players for 2022, in additional to our new overseas amateur Matt Cline.

Saeed Bariwala
TCC have added batting and off-spin bowling experience with former Preston CC and Kendal CC star Saeed Bariwala. Saeed has played over 353 games (since Play-Cricket records began!) scoring 6379 runs in that time with a high score of 169 not out. He has scored 30x 50’s and 2x 100’s in his ‘P-C career’ at an average of 20.00. He joins with good memories of Boundary Meadow! In 2018 he scored an excellent 103 for Kendal CC (off just 108 balls) against TCC and in the same year lifted the Meyler Cup with Kendal when they beat Croston in the final, which was held at TCC.
Saeed was Preston CC’s pro in 2011 where he joined from Skegness CC. He has represented Lincolnshire CCC in his youth and Palace Shield Representative Sides during an outstanding career to date. Welcome Saeed! 

Mark Woodhead
More batting experience has arrived in the form of former Morecambe CC legend Mark Woodhead. Mark brings a wealth of Northern League experience, having won the title 4 times with Morecambe CC, the most recent in 2015. Mark has scored over 10,000 league runs in the Northern League and Palace Shield with a career high of 129 not out (v Lancaster). In that time he has faced the bowling of West Indian Malcolm Marshall (Leyland) and South African Jacques Kallis (Netherfield). Welcome Mark!

Freddie Whatmuff
17 year old all-rounder Freddie joins from neighbours Westgate CC. Freddie has been impressive at all levels of junior cricket and represented senior sides for both Heysham and Westgate in the Westmorland League. He has captained the ‘A Team’ in each of his year groups' at Lancaster Royal Grammar School and continues to represent LRGS in their 1st XI. He was a member of the school team which toured to Dubai and Abu Dhabi in February 2020 and is set to go on the next school tour in February. Freddie is an excellent spin blower and opening batsman. Last Season Freddie impressed playing 35 games...

Lewis Ashcroft
18 year old bowler Lewis joins from Galgate CC. His career best 2/33 came last season v Silverdale 2nds in the Westmorland Div 3 Cup. Lewis also plays cricket for school at LRGS. Welcome Lewis!

Jack Heap has added experience with the capture of Irfan Quayyum (Morecambe CC), Noor Elahi (Carnforth CC) Faizan Khan and Uzair Shah (Both Lancaster CC). Irfan has played 110 Palace Shield games over with Morecambe CC (2024) and Lancaster CC (2020-2023) previously, picking up his career best 5/16 bowling figures last season. He can also bat scoring two PS 50’s plus a knock of 102 for Lancaster CC in 2021. Noor joins from Carnforth CC having played 69 PS games for Carnforth and Lancaster previously. Strong with the bat Noor hit a double hundred for Lancaster 2’s in 2023, other top scores include 183, 114 and 96 (in a T20). He can also bowl with a PS best of 5/25 in 2022. Batsman Faizan joins from Lancaster CC having played 162 NPL and PS games for Lancaster CC and Morecambe CC over the past 9 seasons. Faizan averages 21.6 and hit his top score of 153 not out in 2022 for Lancaster 2s. In 2021 he hit his first PS ton with a knock of 104 off just 45 balls! (8x 4’s & 8x 6’s). Medium-fast bowler Uzair also joins from Lancaster CC. Uzair has bowled over 430 overs in the league taking 92 wickets with best figures of 6/7 at an average of 16.74. Welcome to Boundary Meadow!

South African Sam Signs! Torrisholme CC are excited to announce the signing of South African, Wicket Keeper Batsman, Samuel Brown as our Overseas Amateur for the 2025 Season. Sam is a fluent right handed top order batsman and impressive gloveman, he has been in and around the KwaZulu-Natal set up for a number of years, representing them at various age group levels he joined the KwaZulu-Natal Tuskers Academy in November.
